About me

My name is Liam. I’m Canadian; born and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta. I’m very well travelled, currently situated in Brisbane, Australia. I got to marry my best friend and the love of my life. I love watching movies and binging TV shows; mainly The Office US. Anyone else relate? Music has always been a part of my life, learning how to play piano, violin, guitar and bass at a young age. It is a pretty rare occurrence that my wife and I don’t have music playing in our house and having a good time.

I love all things outdoors. I camp exclusively in tents and love the smell of a campfire. I’ve recently learnt a lot about Essential Oils, courtesy of my wife, and any time I’m asked to pick one, Cedarwood is my go to.

I’m a plain shirt and basketball shoes kinda guy, but a hockey jersey is always the height of fashion in my books. What can I say? I’m Canadian.  Also, I can’t decide if I am a cat or dog person because I love both. My go to coffee is a long black but I won’t say no to a cup of tea. Fun fact, my downfall is long division.

My goal is to capture not only an image but the emotion and story behind what is unfolding in front of my lens to make images that immortalise a moment; not only take a photograph.

I am all about the emotional aspect of things. I would hope that our photography session would make you feel as though we’re catching up as friends. My approach is very laid back, but professional. I am used to working with what is given to me. I am not just taking a photo of you, but I am taking a photo about you.

My editing style is a modern, warm feel, with a pinch of vintage; to give it a timeless flavour. When someone looks at a picture I have taken, I don’t want them to feel like they’re looking at a picture, but that they are there in that moment. Your personality will shine through that picture, and it will say something about you. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, we want to make those thousand words count.

The Mayflower was an English ship that transported the first English Puritans, known today as the Pilgrims, from Plymouth, England to the New World in 1620. I am a descendant from one of the crew members, and my family is very proud of our heritage; especially my Mum.
Photos by Mayflower is a tribute to those whose lives set a foundation for me to have the life I have as well as new beginnings and always looking ahead to what may come
